Getting Started
Who can open a SwissPayments personal account?
Residents who pass our KYC checks and meet our risk criteria can open a personal account online. We verify identity, address and tax residency in line with Swiss AML rules.
How long does it take to open an account?
In most cases, personal applications are reviewed shortly after you submit your documents. Business accounts may take longer depending on company structure and documentation.
Business accounts
Which types of businesses do you support?
We support many legal forms, including freelancers, limited companies and startups. Some higher-risk industries may not be eligible under our compliance policy.
Do you offer multi-currency business accounts?
Yes. You can hold, receive and send money in selected currencies from your SwissPayments business account.
Cards
Do you offer virtual cards?
Yes. Once your account is approved, you can create virtual cards from the app for online payments.
What happens if my card is lost or stolen?
You can immediately freeze the card in the app. If needed, you can order a replacement card quickly.
Payments & FX
Which countries can I send money to?
You can send money domestically and to many international destinations via supported payment networks. The exact list of countries is available in your app and on the Payments & FX page.
How are exchange rates calculated?
We use competitive market rates with a transparent mark-up that you see before confirming the exchange.
Crypto & stablecoins
Do you support crypto and stablecoin payments?
Yes. SwissPayments supports selected cryptocurrencies and fiat-backed stablecoins for payment and treasury use cases. You can accept and send these assets and convert them into traditional currencies within your account. Availability may vary by country, use case and your profile.
What regulations apply to your crypto services?
Our crypto and stablecoin services are subject to Swiss anti-money laundering rules. We operate as a financial intermediary under SRO supervision and apply full KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring and reporting obligations.
Are you a crypto exchange or investment platform?
No. SwissPayments focuses on payment and treasury use cases, not speculative trading or investment. We do not operate a public order-book exchange and we do not provide investment advice.
Security & Compliance
Are you a bank?
SwissPayments is a digital payments and account platform operated by a Swiss financial intermediary under SRO supervision. Payment services may be provided in cooperation with regulated banking and payment partners. We follow Swiss AML and compliance standards for our services.
How is my money protected?
Client funds are held with regulated partners and are segregated from operational funds, in line with regulatory requirements. Details are outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
How do you protect my data?
We use industry-standard encryption, strong authentication and strict access controls. Security is monitored and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
